Domaine d'Eugenie

Domaine d'Eugenie

The Domaine d'Eugenie is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Burgundy, France. This estate, formerly known as Domaine René Engel, was acquired by François Pinault in 2006 and renamed in honor of his late wife, Eugenie. The Domaine d'Eugenie is situated in the Côte des Nuits region, which is known for producing some of the finest and most sought-after wines in the world.

The Domaine d'Eugenie is situated on the prestigious hill of Vosne-Romanée, which is home to some of the most famous Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, including Romanée-Conti and La Tâche. The vineyards of the estate are spread across 6 hectares and are divided into 8 different appellations, including 4 Grand Crus and 4 Premier Crus. This allows the estate to produce a wide range of wines, each with their own unique character and expression of the terroir.

The winemaking philosophy at Domaine d'Eugenie is focused on producing wines that truly reflect the unique characteristics of the terroir. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected, then vinified in small batches to preserve their individual qualities. The wines are aged in French oak barrels, with a careful balance of new and used barrels to ensure the perfect integration of oak flavors.

The flagship wine of Domaine d'Eugenie is the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, which is known for its exceptional complexity and aging potential. This wine is made from a single vineyard, located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, and is a true expression of the estate's dedication to quality and tradition.

In addition to their red wines, Domaine d'Eugenie also produces a small amount of white wine from their Premier Cru vineyards in the village of Vosne-Romanée. This wine, made from Chardonnay grapes
