Domaine Bachelet-Monnot is a prestigious wine producer located in the heart of Burgundy, France. This family-owned estate has been crafting exceptional wines for over three generations, with a focus on traditional winemaking methods that showcase the unique characteristics of the region.
The Bachelet-Monnot domaine was founded in 1995 by brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, who inherited their family's vineyards and decided to start their own winery. The domaine has since expanded to include 13 hectares of vines spread across some of the most renowned appellations in Burgundy, including Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin.
The brothers are committed to sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices, using organic and biodynamic methods in their vineyards. This attention to detail and respect for the land is reflected in their wines, which are known for their elegance, balance, and purity.
One of the standout wines from Domaine Bachelet-Monnot is their Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Folatières". This single-vineyard wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes and is a prime example of the domaine's commitment to quality. It is a complex and rich wine with a beautiful minerality and a long, lingering finish.
Another gem from the estate is their Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Boudriotte". This wine is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, showcasing the diversity of the Bachelet-Monnot vineyards. It is a well-structured and elegant wine with notes of red berries, spices, and a touch of oak.
In addition to their renowned white wines, Domaine Bachelet-Monnot also produces exceptional red wines. Their Bourgogne Rouge is a great entry-level wine that offers a taste of Burgundy at an affordable price.
