Pintia

Pintia is a renowned wine producer located in the prestigious wine region of Toro, Spain. The winery was established in 1997 by the iconic wine producer Vega Sicilia, known for producing some of the most highly sought after wines in Spain. Pintia is located on the banks of the Duero River, in the heart of the Toro appellation, which is known for its powerful and rich red wines.

The Toro appellation has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the Roman era. However, it wasn't until the late 20th century that the region gained recognition for its exceptional wines. The climate in Toro is continental, with hot summers and cold winters, creating the perfect conditions for growing high-quality grapes. The vineyards of Pintia are situated at an altitude of 700 to 800 meters, with vines that are over 60 years old, resulting in low yields and concentrated flavors.

Pintia is dedicated to producing single-varietal wines using the indigenous grape variety Tinta de Toro, also known as Tempranillo. The winery focuses on sustainable practices and uses a combination of modern and traditional winemaking techniques to craft their wines. The result is a range of wines that express the unique terroir of Toro while maintaining the signature style of Vega Sicilia.

One of the most notable wines produced by Pintia is their flagship wine, also named Pintia. This wine is a blend of 100% Tinta de Toro, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, and is a true representation of the Toro appellation. It is a full-bodied and complex wine, with aromas of dark berries, spices, and a hint of oak. On the palate, it is rich and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish.

Aside from their flagship wine, Pintia also produces a second wine called "Pintia la Vallada,"
