J A Ferret

J A Ferret is a renowned wine producer that is located in the heart of the Burgundy region in France. The winery is situated in the small village of Fuissé, which is known for its exceptional terroir and ideal climate for producing high-quality Chardonnay wines.

The history of J A Ferret dates back to the early 19th century when the Ferret family first started growing grapes in Fuissé. In 1840, Jean-Antoine Ferret founded the winery and began producing wines under the J A Ferret label. Over the years, the winery has been passed down through generations of the Ferret family, and today it is owned by the current winemaker, Louis Jadot.

J A Ferret is known for its exceptional Chardonnay wines, which are made from grapes grown in some of the finest vineyards in Fuissé. The winery has a total of 18 hectares of vineyards, all of which are classified as Premier and Grand Cru. The vines are planted on steep slopes, with a south-eastern exposure, which allows for optimal sunlight exposure and perfect ripening of the grapes.

The winemaking process at J A Ferret is a combination of traditional and modern techniques. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted to ensure that only the best quality grapes are used for winemaking. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to the final product.

J A Ferret produces a range of wines, including their flagship wine, Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Perrières". This wine is made from grapes grown in the Les Perrières vineyard, which is known for its limestone and clay-rich soil. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, resulting in a complex and elegant wine with notes of citrus, white flowers, and a touch of minerality.
