Jankara

Jankara is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of the Tuscan region in Italy. The winery is situated in the beautiful hills of Montalcino, a small medieval village known for its rich history and picturesque landscapes. Jankara is a family-owned and operated winery that has been producing high-quality wines since 1997.

The name Jankara is derived from the Etruscan language and means "to be reborn." This reflects the winery's commitment to producing wines that represent the unique terroir of Montalcino while continuously evolving and improving their winemaking techniques.

The winery is situated on a 30-hectare estate, with 7 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, which provides the perfect climate and soil conditions for growing Sangiovese grapes, the main grape variety used in Jankara's wines.

The winemaking process at Jankara is a blend of traditional and modern techniques. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected before undergoing a long maceration process to extract the best flavors and aromas. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months before bottling.

Jankara produces a range of wines, including their flagship wine, the Brunello di Montalcino. This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes and is aged for a minimum of 4 years before release. The result is a full-bodied and complex wine with notes of ripe dark fruits, spices, and a hint of vanilla from the oak aging.

Aside from their Brunello di Montalcino, Jankara also produces a Rosso di Montalcino, which is a younger and more approachable version of their Brunello, and a Riserva, which is only produced in exceptional vintages. The winery also produces a Super Tuscan blend, using Sangioves
