The 2022 Alvarinho Muros Antigos, unoaked, dry and without fizz, comes in at 12.6% alcohol. A lovely vintage, this is a little lighter in the mid-palate than some of the Big Boys, but it is expressive and perfectly balanced. There might also be a reductive trace, but not much. This doesn't project a lot of power, but it should still hold well; Mendes's wines usually do. Meanwhile, it does seem to be polished and attractive, a refined Alvarinho that can easily be drunk on its own or with food.
