Bouza

Bodega Bouza is a wine producer based in Canelones, Uruguay's most significant wine-growing department, situated in the southern part of the country near Montevideo. Canelones accounts for a substantial share of Uruguay's total vineyard area and benefits from a maritime-influenced climate moderated by the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean, with warm summers and relatively mild winters.

The region is particularly associated with Tannat, the thick-skinned red grape that originated in southwest France and has become Uruguay's flagship variety. In Canelones, Tannat tends to produce wines with firm tannin structure, dark fruit character, and good aging potential, though the maritime influence can lend a degree of softness compared to more continental growing conditions.
