Domaine du Tunnel

The Domaine du Tunnel is a highly acclaimed wine producer located in the Rhône Valley region of France. Founded in 1994 by winemaker Stéphane Robert, the domaine has gained international recognition for its exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of the region.

Situated in the northern part of the Rhône Valley, the Domaine du Tunnel is located in the village of Saint-Péray. This region is known for its rugged terrain, with steep slopes and granite soils that produce wines with great depth and complexity. The microclimate of the area, with its hot summers and cool winters, is also ideal for cultivating high-quality grapes.

The domaine covers 9 hectares of vineyards, with a focus on the traditional grape varieties of the Rhône Valley, including Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne. The grapes are grown using sustainable farming practices, with a strong emphasis on preserving the natural balance of the soil and the environment. This commitment to sustainability and respect for the land is reflected in the domaine's official organic certification.

One of the standout wines from the Domaine du Tunnel is their Cornas, a single varietal Syrah that is considered to be one of the best in the appellation. The steep terraced vineyards and the granitic soils of Cornas contribute to the intensity and complexity of this wine, which is aged in oak barrels for 18 months to develop its rich, dark fruit flavors and elegant tannins.

In addition to their renowned Cornas, the domaine also produces a range of other red and white wines, including a Côtes-du-Rhône, a Saint-Joseph, and a Condrieu. Each wine is crafted with precision and a deep understanding of the terroir, resulting in wines that are both distinctive and representative of the region.
