Poliziano Asinone

Poliziano Asinone

Poliziano is a prestigious wine producer located in the heart of Tuscany, specifically in the Montepulciano region. Founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti, Poliziano is one of the oldest and most respected wineries in the area.

The winery takes its name from the famous humanist poet Angelo Ambrogini, also known as Poliziano. This is a nod to the rich cultural heritage of Tuscany, which is reflected in the quality and craftsmanship of Poliziano's wines.

The winery is situated on the rolling hills of Montepulciano, in the southern part of Tuscany. The region is known for its picturesque landscapes, medieval villages, and of course, its renowned wines. The climate is characterized by hot summers and mild winters, creating the perfect conditions for growing grapes. The vineyards of Poliziano are located at an altitude of 300-400 meters above sea level, where the soil is rich in clay and limestone, providing ideal conditions for the growth of Sangiovese grapes.

Poliziano is best known for its flagship wine, the Asinone. Named after the vineyard where the grapes are grown, this wine is made from 100% Sangiovese and is considered one of the finest expressions of the varietal. The Asinone is a single-vineyard wine, made from carefully selected grapes, and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. The result is a full-bodied wine with intense aromas of dark fruits, spices, and tobacco, and a long, elegant finish.

In addition to the Asinone, Poliziano also produces a range of other high-quality wines, including the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano, and a white wine made from the Trebbiano grape. Each wine is a true reflection of the terroir and the winemaking philosophy
