Puech-Haut

Château Puech-Haut is a wine estate located in the Hérault department of southern France, within the broader Languedoc-Roussillon region. It produces wine under the Pays d'Hérault IGP designation, an Indication Géographique Protégée that covers a wide swath of the Hérault and allows for considerable flexibility in grape variety selection and winemaking style compared to the stricter Languedoc AOC rules.

The Pays d'Hérault IGP benefits from a classic Mediterranean climate — hot, dry summers, mild winters, and significant sunshine hours — which suits varieties like Grenache and Cinsault particularly well. These two grapes are traditional to the south of France and form the backbone of many Languedoc rosés, typically delivering wines with red fruit character, floral notes, and a fresh, dry finish when vinified at cool temperatures.

The estate's rosé, made from Grenache and Cinsault, follows this regional tradition. Grenache contributes body and ripe fruit, while Cinsault lends lightness, aromatic lift, and a certain delicacy that helps maintain freshness in warm-climate wines.
