Rhum J.M is a renowned producer of premium aged rum located in the French Caribbean island of Martinique. The brand has a rich history dating back to 1790, when Jean-Marie Martin first established the plantation and began producing rum using traditional techniques. Today, Rhum J.M is recognised as one of the top producers of Agricole rum, a style of rum made from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses.

The Rhum J.M plantation is situated in the foothills of Mount Pelée, an active volcano that provides a unique and fertile terroir for the sugarcane. The volcanic soil, combined with the tropical climate and proximity to the sea, gives the sugarcane a distinct and complex flavour that is reflected in the final product. The sugarcane is hand-harvested and pressed within hours to ensure the freshness and quality of the juice.

The rhum is then distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak casks, allowing the flavours to develop and mature over time. The aging process takes place in the traditional cellars, which are located close to the sea and benefit from the ocean's humidity and temperature fluctuations.
