Volvic Water

Volvic is a natural mineral water sourced from the volcanic region of Auvergne in central France. The water originates in the Chaîne des Puys, a chain of extinct volcanoes, and filters slowly through layers of volcanic rock over several years before being collected at the source in Volvic. This lengthy filtration process gives the water its low mineral content and notably light, neutral character.

Because of its low mineralisation, Volvic is considered a soft water, making it palatable on its own and well-suited for use in food preparation where a neutral base is preferred. It is available still only, and is bottled at source under strict controls governed by French and European mineral water regulations, which prohibit any treatment that would alter its natural mineral composition.
