Didier Dagueneau is a renowned wine producer from the Loire Valley in France, known for his exceptional Blanc Fumé de Pouilly. The history of the estate dates back to the 17th century, when the Dagueneau family started growing grapes in the region. Didier Dagueneau took over the family business in the 1980s and revolutionized the production of Sauvignon Blanc in Pouilly-Fumé.

What sets Didier Dagueneau's Blanc Fumé de Pouilly apart is his meticulous attention to detail in every step of the winemaking process. He believed that the quality of the wine is determined by the quality of the grapes, and therefore, he focused on cultivating the best possible grapes in his vineyards. He used organic and biodynamic farming methods to ensure that the grapes were of the highest quality.

Once the grapes were harvested, Didier Dagueneau used a unique winemaking technique that involved fermenting the wine in oak barrels with natural yeasts. This gave the wine a distinct flavour profile that was unlike any other Sauvignon Blanc in the region. The wine was then aged in oak barrels for several months, which added complexity and depth to the wine.

The Blanc Fumé de Pouilly produced by Didier Dagueneau is a dry, crisp wine with a complex flavour profile. It has notes of citrus, grapefruit, and minerals, with a long, lingering finish. The wine is best enjoyed with seafood, poultry, or creamy cheeses.

Didier Dagueneau's Blanc Fumé de Pouilly has won numerous awards and accolades over the years, including a perfect score from wine critic Robert Parker. The wine is highly sought after by wine enthusiasts and collectors around the world.

Didier Dagueneau’s son, Louis-Benjamin (whose name now appears on the label) is in charge of the Domaine that his recently deceased and much-lamented father brought to such notoriety. Benjamin Dagueneau – whose intense focus is obvious – has been working alongside his father for several years, and the crew here – one person each for the estate’s 11 hectares (27 acres) – are no doubt exceptionally capable of carrying on. This Blanc Etc opens with bright lemon-yellow colour with golden highlights. The aromas are fine and delicate with notes of lemon zest, flint, lemon blossoms and pears. The wine is perfectly balanced between lively acidity and intense concentration in flavours on more candied notes than on the nose. Lots of sapidity around the white fruit. Very beautiful harmony between mineral and weft acid. Good persistence.
Very light yellow with brilliant reflections. Upon opening, the nose reveals a bouquet of white currant, lime, eucalyptus and crushed rock. The fleshy fruitiness and floating florality are conveyed by the high proportion of chalk, which gives an exciting cloudy volume. The palate is held by a vibrant intensity and a dazzling clarity, the long and sapid finish is based on ageing in wood that is simply divine!
