Glenlivet Distillery - Scotland The Glenlivet Distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland and is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in the country. Founded in 1824, the distillery has a rich history and is known for producing some of the finest single malt whiskies in the world. The production process at Glenlivet is steeped in tradition and begins with the selection of the finest barley and water from the nearby Josie's Well. The barley is then malted and dried over peat fires before being ground into a fine powder and mixed with water to create a mash. This mash is then fermented for several days before being distilled in copper pot stills. The resulting spirit is then aged in oak casks for a minimum of 12 years, during which time it develops its distinctive flavour and aroma. The Glenlivet range includes a variety of different expressions, from the classic 12-year-old to the rare and highly sought-after 25-year-old. Glenmorangie Distillery - Scotland Located in the Scottish Highlands, the Glenmorangie Distillery has been producing whisky since 1843. The distillery is known for its tall, elegant stills, which are the tallest in Scotland and allow for a purer, smoother spirit. The production process at Glenmorangie begins with the selection of the finest barley and water from the Tarlogie Springs. The barley is then malted and dried using only the finest Scottish peat before being ground into a fine powder and mixed with water to create a mash. This mash is then fermented for several days before being distilled in the tall copper stills. The resulting spirit is then aged in a variety of different casks, including ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and ex-wine casks, which impart their own unique flavours and aromas to the whisky. The Glenmorangie range includes a variety of different expressions, from the classic 10-year-old to the rare and highly sought-after Signet. Jack Daniel's Distillery - Tennessee, USA Jack Daniel's is one of the most famous whisky brands in the world and is produced at the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The distillery was founded in 1866 and is known for its unique production process, which includes the use of charcoal mellowing. The production process at Jack Daniel's begins with the selection of the finest corn, rye, and barley. These grains are then mixed with water and cooked to create a mash, which is then fermented for several days before being distilled in copper stills. The resulting spirit is then filtered through charcoal made from sugar maple wood, which imparts a smooth, mellow flavour to the whisky. The whisky is then aged in new, charred oak barrels for a minimum of four years, during which time it develops its distinctive flavour and aroma. The Jack Daniel's range includes a variety of different expressions, from the classic Old No. 7 to the premium Single Barrel Select.
