Onshore Cellars is proud to feature wines from the esteemed wine producer, Château Margaux, located in the prestigious Margaux appellation within the Bordeaux region of France.

Established in the 12th century, Château Margaux has a long and rich history of winemaking, making it one of the oldest and most renowned wineries in the world. The estate has been owned by the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977, who have continued to uphold the traditions and standards of excellence that have made Château Margaux a household name among wine lovers.

The Margaux appellation is known for producing some of the most elegant and refined wines in Bordeaux, and Château Margaux is no exception. The region's unique terroir, with its gravelly soils and ideal microclimate, lends itself to the production of high-quality, age-worthy wines. The vineyards at Château Margaux are meticulously cared for, with a focus on sustainable and organic farming practices, resulting in wines that truly reflect the unique characteristics of the land.

Château Margaux is best known for its red wine, made predominantly from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, with smaller amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot blended in. The wines are known for their exceptional balance, complexity, and silky tannins, with flavors of dark fruits, spice, and a touch of earthiness. They are often described as being "feminine" in style, with a delicate and refined character that sets them apart from other wines in the region.

In addition to their flagship red wine, Château Margaux also produces a second wine, Pavillon Rouge, as well as a white wine, Pavillon Blanc. Both of these wines are made with the same level of care and attention to detail as their flagship red, and offer a unique expression of the Margaux terroir.
